The inaugural Tanglefoot Music & BBQ Festival brought an unforgettable weekend of music, food, and community to downtown Temple. Bird Creek Brewing was proud to stand as a major sponsor of this milestone event, celebrating both Temple’s heritage and its future as a hub for culture and connection.
From the start, our team was fully invested in helping make the festival a success. We kept the bands fueled with pizza from our sister restaurant, Treno Pizzeria & Taproom, and paired it with Bird Creek’s award-winning brews. Behind the scenes, our crew proudly partnered with artist Stephen King and our friends at Pig and Pickle to cater an incredible spread for the Founder’s Lounge. This VIP space offered festival guests an elevated experience, blending hospitality with the same attention to detail that defines everything we do at Bird Creek Brewing.
We are especially grateful for the dedication of our team throughout the weekend. A huge thanks goes to our incredible employees and to the former staff who stepped back in to lend a hand. Their commitment and energy helped us deliver a weekend of food, drink, and service that we hope festival guests will remember for years to come.
The story of Tanglefoot carries deep roots in Temple’s history. In the late nineteenth century, Temple was often called “Mud Town” or “Tanglefoot” for its rough streets, locomotive camps, and the watering holes that drew people together. The modern festival revived that history in a new light, transforming the MLK Festival Grounds into a gathering place filled with live performances, pitmasters from across the country, and the vibrancy of a community celebrating together.
Over the course of two days, the festival featured more than twenty musical acts, barbecue traditions from Texas to the Carolinas, and countless moments of connection. For Bird Creek Brewing, being part of Tanglefoot was about more than serving food and beer—it was about showing pride in our city, supporting the creative spirit of Temple, and helping to shape experiences that bring people together.
As we reflect on this inaugural festival, we are honored to have played a role in its success and excited for what lies ahead.
